The lighting fixtures in their storage facility consisted of outdated fluorescent fixtures resulting in high energy consumption & maintenance costs, and reduced employee productivity. Therefore, Diversified entered into a contract with Commonwealth Energy Group (CEG), an energy service company, to retrofit lighting systems with modern technologies that consume far less energy and increase light output aiding in workplace productivity.

CEG replaced 1,400 T12 fluorescent fixtures with an energy efficient T8 fluorescent fixtures consuming 50% less energy. The new lamps have a useful life of 30,000 hours compared to 12,000 hours of lamp life previously, resulting in lower maintenance costs.
Occupancy sensors were deployed adding to the energy efficiency. CEG completed the project in three (3) weeks as per schedule.

CEG funded the project with two grants and one loan. The payback on the project was 1.5 years allowing the client to experience the operating budget savings almost immediately.
